Premium Shellfish Holding & Filtration Solutions

Shellfish holding systems are specialised systems for holding shellfish, primarily decapod Crustaceans such as Lobster, Nephrops and Crab. They are designed so that shellfish can purge physical contaminants (e.g. sand), empty their digestive systems, reduce stress, improve flesh flavour, as well as effective keeping for research. It can be surprising just how much is released when Crustaceans are reintroduced to water after a period of transport. Shellfish holding systems differ from the plug and play depuration systems in that they are larger and the effluent from each tank is filtered through to one sump, UV system, skimmer etc, designed to hold shellfish in bulk prior to sale.

Our Shellfish holding systems are fully customisable, it is possible to have the units vertically stacked or horzontally placed and we are able to supply filtration components to extend, upgrade and retrofit existing systems.

For facilities that do not have saltwater 'on tap' we can supply premium quality synthetic salt containing all trace elements in the purest form available, ensuring stable water parameters to support the optimum health of the animals. Bulk sizes and prices are also available.
